With decades of combined experience, our team has supported some of the country’s most demanding infrastructure, telco, and construction projects—always with a commitment to safety, scheduling, and workmanship.
What started as a small fabrication outfit has grown into a full-service engineering partner. Today, we offer turnkey solutions that span design drafting, structural engineering, CNC machining, custom fabrication, installation, and compliance certification. Our projects range from architectural features to major structural steelworks and specialist installations in telecommunications and transport. Through it all, we remain focused on delivering practical solutions, honest communication, and results that stand the test of time.

The story of how our company was founded
At Amediate Engineering, we stand on the foundations built by two determined, visionary people: Ken and Tania Brown-Bayliss.
For over 30 years, this enterprising husband-and-wife team poured their passion, skill, and relentless drive into building one of New Zealand’s most respected names in specialist fabrication and structural engineering.
What started with a couple of borrowed lathes and a big idea grew into a company known for delivering custom fabrication and engineering solutions to some of the country’s most recognisable industries — from brewing and telecommunications to traffic infrastructure, structural works, and architectural finishing. Whether it was the brewery system behind your local pint, a cell phone tower supporting your calls, a striking brass-and-wood door, or a mast supporting your daily commute, Amediate’s quiet handiwork was likely behind it.
Ken, a qualified fitter and turner, and Tania, the heart of the operation, led the business through major milestones, from their original workshop in Howick to a purpose-built facility in East Tamaki. Along the way, they grew their team, and built an enduring reputation for quality, problem-solving, and community spirit. "No is not an option for us," Ken used to say to his team, and that attitude became part of Amediate's DNA.
In 2024, Ken and Tania passed the torch, selling Amediate Engineering to new ownership after decades of success. Their values remain woven into the culture: integrity, precision, care for people, and pride in doing things properly. We are proud to carry their legacy forward, continuing to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions for our clients while honouring the craftsmanship, grit, and goodwill that defined Amediate’s beginning.
